Bell performed the mechanical installation for an expansion within the existing Bank of America facility, helping to successfully complete construction of a 120,000 square foot data center in Richmond, VA.
The project consisted of new computer room air conditioning units, cooling towers, chillers, fuel oil tanks and associated pumps, fans and a remote cooling system. All work was performed in an active mission-critical environment within an operating data center.
Bell’s work on this project was governed by the owner’s “Critical Environment Work Authorization” (CEWA) process. This process ensured that Bank of America maintained 100% uptime during construction, with no loss of services to its customers.
