Project Overview

Robins Air Force Base is home of Georgia Air National Guard 116th Bomb Wing, flying the B-1B bomber, and  is the main U.S. operating base for the E-8 Joint STARS.

Bell constructed a 76,800-square-foot B-1 Composite Aircraft Maintenance Hangar, including a complete array of corrosion control and related functions; a 22,600-square-foot Engine Shop Maintenance and Storage facility; and a 22,600-square-foot AGE/Munitions facility for the 116th Bomber Wing.

With the exception of electrical, fireproofing and masonry, Bell was responsible for all construction elements for these structures, including utilities, site improvements, paving and new construction of fully covered areas, corrosion control docks, fuel systems maintenance docks, fuel systems/corrosion control shops, survival equipment shops, and general purpose shops, covered storage, maintenance bays, and vehicle equipment storage.
