Bell performed the Mechanical and Plumbing scopes of work for the College of William & Mary Fine and Performing Arts Center. The work included the phased construction of an approximately 88,244 SF addition to the existing Theater Building (Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall) and a new construction 70,742 SF Music Building. Both buildings are 2-story, with basements, located along side one another, and connected via an underground tunnel at the basement level.
Key components for the Theater Building are four classrooms/seminar rooms, a 100-seat student laboratory, a 250-seat studio (black box) theater and a 499-seat renovated main theater. Key program elements for the Music Building include four classrooms/seminar rooms, 15 teaching studios, 33 practice rooms, 60 person choral and 45 person instrumental practice rooms, a 125 seat recital hall and a 450 seat recital hall.
The project shall pursue Leadership in Energy Design (LEED) certification, targeted for LEED Silver.
