Bell provided the mechanical scope of work for the new 13,000 SF West Utility Plant at the College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia. The purpose of this plant is the generation of chilled water and heating water to the new academic campus utilizing:
• (3) 1280 Ton Centrifugal Chillers
• (3) 1280 Ton Cooling Towers with Side Stream Filtration
• (13) Circulating Pumps
• (3) 10,000 MBH Hot Water Generators
The project shall pursue Leadership in Energy Design (LEED) certification, targeted for LEED Silver.
The project also included site distribution piping necessary to connect the West Plant to existing buildings on campus, this work was performed under a separate contract.
In an effort to enhance the project schedule, Bell fabricated 95% of the piping off-site.
