Bell performed Mechanical and Plumbing Design-Assist and Construction subcontract services at the new 65,000 SF single story replacement hospital with 25 inpatient beds, 16 ED exam rooms, 5 observation rooms, 2 ORs, an Imaging Suite, sterile processing department, laboratory, pharmacy, full kitchen, dining, and support spaces.
During the Design-Assist phase, Bell provided budgeting at the 100% Schematic Design, 100% Design Development, 50% and 95% Construction Document Levels including: Budget Management (Scope Growth Control, Value Management Recommendations and Pricing); Constructability Reviews; Specification Change Recommendations; and Collaborative BIM reviews with model improvements.
Bell submitted an initial Schematic Design budget in July 2020. In October 2020, DD pricing was submitted that established a Target Value budget. Bell then worked continuously with the engineer until 100% Construction Documents were issued in January 2021.
